My Crack Dealer

I have to go see my Crack Dealer tonight (aka my hair dresser).  He's leaving town for his vacation and won't be back until I'm gone on my vacation.

Which means I had to move my appointment up about a week or so which means that I'm really going to need my hair done by the time I get back from my holiday.

Unless I let someone in Houston do my hair.  Which is kinda scary since I haven't had a hair dresser in the States since March 2005.

But I'll have to do something or my hair will be looking pretty scary.

Scary enough that small children will be running, screaming for their mommies.  Men and women will pass out from the fright of it all!

It'll be chaos!

It'll be scary!

And it just might be fun to scare everyone with my hideousness!

I have to tell you, I'm sitting here laughing my ass off right now with the images in my head.

I crack me up!!!

Back in the airport again

My holiday is over.

Sad...

But Switzerland was so much fun!

More later - I have to catch the plane back to Dubai...

Oh by the way I wrote my page in the notebook - now it's on its way to the next person!

Yeah!

It's our Honeymoon!!!!

Not really - it's our 8 year anniversary trip - but I like to call it our honeymoon.

I'm in the airport lounge - thank you my husband for being a points whore!

Away from the masses - which means I get a nice breakfast, free internet connection, alcohol if I want it (but at 7am it's a little early for me), I'm charging all my electronics (can't fly without my ipod fully functional), and the bathrooms are more private and very clean.

Unfortunately I'm not getting upgraded b/c my flight is not full.

Bummer.

But since I'm off to meet my hubby in Switzerland who cares!?

We're going to Bern and from there we're going to drive around and explore the towns and country side.

Yeah!!!

I love Switzerland it's so beautiful and relaxing.

And I'm going to do a bit of shopping.  Man do I love shopping - I don't even really have to buy anything - I just love to browse.

I love to browse in countries that are older because you see really interesting shops, crafts etc...

Dubai doesn't really have a developed crafty side.  I'm not sure why...since it's such a young country you would think things like embroidery would be really popular - but not so much.

They mostly have it done in India then shipped over.

I guess it's cheaper that way.

So I'm going to see if I can find some yarn, thread etc... to buy, to look at, to touch!

We're also going to buy a new camera - the Canon SX210 - in black.

I'm very excited about that, although my other camera is now working again.  It was a bit damaged after the Thailand trip - it was doused with water - but it seems to have recovered.

---btw the guys sitting next to me - they are German and one of them is really tall and athletic looking.  He just pulled out the tiniest computer I've ever seen!  I'm not sure how his big hands are going to be able to type on the thing....

Ahhh - he's a one finger typer!

Anyhoo - I'm going to go now - I'm going to attempt to transfer more of my travel blog over to this account.

Later!

I'm a bad, bad, girl...

I'm not writing as much as I was before my vacation.

I think I'm still coasting on my vacation high...

That's how good my vacation was - I'm still feeling the benefit.

btw - Thailand has excellent coffee.

I had a ice Thai coffee everyday I was there - sometimes twice a day.

The vendors on the street use sweetened condensed milk in the coffee so it no longer tastes like coffee but some kind of sweet candy drink.

The hotel made it more like I like it - strong and not sweet.

Bliss....

Vacation - How sweet it is...

I have to say if you have a chance to go to Thailand GO!

We had the most incredible time.

The people were so nice,

The accommodation was beautiful,

And the food was fantastic!

This is where we stayed:

http://www.santiburi.com/bophut_resort/

We booked a villa with its own pool.

And man was that a good idea!  We didn't get into the main pool once, and we didn't swim in the ocean either.  But we did dip our feet into the water when we walked down the beach.

Having your own private pool is the height of decadence.

Seriously.

This was one of the best vacations we've ever had - it was so relaxing.

We just chilled out.

But we did do a few things - one day we did an Island Tour and had a look at the big Buddha.

And they weren't kidding when they said big - the thing was Giganormous!

We also went to an animal park and saw the snake show.

Well actually my husband watched it, I walked in saw the guy messing with the uncontained snakes, then I walked out.

I'm not down with teasing a snake that isn't in any kind of containment.  The guy and the snakes were seriously in a circle which had about a 1 foot wall around it.

And that was it.

Really?!

I can tell you without a shadow of doubt, I don't have any sort of wish to be bitten by a king cobra.

Really.

Then we did some zip lining in the tree tops - that was so much fun we almost did it again.

And we road an elephant.  My husband liked that more than me - it depressed me.

I'm not a fan of animal parks and such.  I know they have their place and purpose - I just don't like them.

I feel sad for the animals.

We got back yesterday morning about 2am - talk about a shocker - I had to get up and go to work at 7am.

I miss my vacation.

Boo hooo!

I'm Back

And I just can't bring myself to write anything right now.

I had such a wonderful time and now I'm back at work.

I need to adjust...then I'll write.

Later Gator

The Thrill is gone...

Not really but it sounded good.

I read about this on people.com, then watched it on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTCm8tdHkfI

It's a little girl crying for Justin Bieber.  When I heard about this my first thought was...who's Justin Bieber?

Then I watched it, I still don't know who he is but the video of the little girl crying was hilarious!

Apparently she hadn't had a nap and started obsessing over him.

FYI - I Googled him - he's a singer.  A tween singer.  And he looks like he's 12 years old so I'm not surprised I hadn't heard of him.

Anyway it made me laugh!

And this, this made me cry.

=============

I'm very excited!  My husband will be home in a few days - and I'm very, very happy about that.

It'll be so nice to see him after 2 weeks of being gone.  He's been in Germany eating weiner schnitzel, sausages, and mustard!  All my favorite foods from Germany!

AND we're going to start booking our beach holiday in Thailand!  YEAH!

We're also going to book our hotel in Valdez so we can make sure we get the room we want.

I can't wait to see my brother when we go to Alaska!

I can't wait to see my buttercup!

Vacation Time Again!

You gotta love a life where you get to travel for fun so much.

We're off to Vienna, Budapest, and Prague and I can't wait. I'm especially looking forward to Budapest after reading the guide book. They have a lot of palaces and baths AND from reading the guidebook I think the food and drink will be outstanding. One of their specialties is potato pancakes with sour cream! BLISS!

I hope the coffee is good.

I know the beds will be comfortable - it's a Starwood.

This trip instead of eating breakfast in the hotel we're going to go out. I really enjoyed that with SP on our trip and it saves money.

On the road again! Like a band of gypsys we go down the highway!

In my head I'm a really, really, really good singer.
